It's that time of year...it's starting to get too cold to do projects outside and on the yard, so Ben and I start looking for indoor home projects. I've been itching to give my laundry room a face lift and we finally took care of it last week. We used a little bead board, paint and hooks and this is how it turned out. Here are some before pictures.
Ben took the original baseboard off first, placed a thicker baseboard down to handle the bead board, put up the bead board, I caulked and spackled, Ben and I painted, and Ben screwed in the hooks. Hear are a few after pictures.
wow tara it looks great! I love bead board. Can you come give me decorating tips. We were just talking about how it is about time to start doing new indoor projects.
Yes, looks fantastic. One little adendum . . . it would have been nice to have a little mention of your partner in crime as far as the caulking and spakling goes, I mean, come on, it's not like I always through my plans to the wind to spend hours in my friends laundry room, seriously . . . he he
I love the hooks! Love the hooks! Last Christmas Robert made me a hook hangup thingy for the hall to the basement...but sadly, sniff sniff...it's still there and we are here. It's the one thing I wanted to take with us. Perhaps before we sell, IF we can sell, I will remove it and bring it up here.
But you sure did change the look of your laundry room.
Benjamin (Say that with the portuges accent), I was looking at Brian and Val's blog and came accross a familiar name, "Hales" and sure engough it was my old friend Ben and family. I hope all is well it's good to know you're alive. Matt Montano

Turned out very well. I hope our house can look as good as yours when we are done.
I'm glad you got that up. When we left Dad commented that we hadn't done that when you mentioned it. It looks real nice.
